Quick info for educators and youth workers
If you work with young people, there are a lot of ways to get involved. You may want to start here:
- Invite Otesha to run a workshop at your school or youth club. Our workshops deal with active citizenship and environmental responsibility through topics such as bike maintenance, Fairtrade, food, ethical fashion, energy use and analysing the media. At the moment this is limited to 14-18 yr olds in London. Download workshop descriptions here. Get in touch with jo@otesha.org.uk .
- Help young people create social and environmental change. Through 6 week Change Projects we'll be helping young people to start their own projects that'll make their schools and communities more sustainable. At the moment this is limited to 14-18 yr olds in London. Download more information here, contact jo@otesha.org.uk if you want to know even more.
- Host an Otesha cycle team at your school or youth club. We'll be touring around the UK between July 2nd and August 28th 2010 and would love to hear from you if you would like to host a performance. Here's the Schools Info Pack. Let us know if you're interested!
- Use the Otesha Book in schools as part of your curriculum. Some teachers are already doing this in Canada, using a specially-designed teacher's menu to guide pupils through hands-on projects and interactive dialogue about the impacts of our day-to-day actions.
