Grow Your Own

group your own

Focus on food

Participants in this workshop will get mucky, planting their own seeds to grow. They’ll explore the connections between what they eat and the big issues like climate change, farming systems and fair trade. Then they’ll map out the best places in the local area to plant their seedlings and put a compost bin, and make an action plan to dig a veg patch, create a windowsill garden or get composting.

Things the venue needs to provide:

  • Soil (we'll bring the seeds)
  • Pots (recycled yoghurt pots are perfect for this activity)
  • Newspaper or sheets to keep the tables clean
  • A sunny windowsill for the seedlings to grow
