The Otesha Play
Just like the cycle tours are the heart and soul of our project, the Otesha play is the most important part of the cycle tours.
When we roll into towns and festivals, spreading practical ideas and challenging people to do something (anything!), the first thing we'll do is perform the Otesha play.
This play is based on the Otesha Canada Morning Choices skit, which follows two characters as they go through their morning routine from 8:00 to 9:00am. The characters explore issues around water, clothing, food, media, fair trade, transportation, energy use and personal banking, making the connection between global issues and their personal lifestyles. Along the way, they present lots of ideas for simple actions that we can take in our everyday lives to contribute to a better world.
